Citigate Dewe Rogerson (‘Citigate’) has been appointed by Legg Mason, the ninth largest asset manager in the world, to handle its corporate communications across the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Citigate will commence working for Legg Mason in September 2008, following a competitive pitch against three other European agencies.

The account will be led by Citigate Executive Director Phil Anderson supported by directors Marisa Elliott and Stephen Sheppard and will report into Lucy Davidson, Legg Mason’s European head of communications. Citigate will help to raise Legg Mason’s profile across Europe, through a programme of thought leadership.

Legg Mason, headquartered in Baltimore, USA, is a global investment management firm with assets under management totalling $923 billion as of June 30th, 2008. The Legg Mason family encompasses ten wholly-owned, yet independent investment subsidiaries covering a broad spectrum of asset management styles.
