Citigate Dewe Rogerson client scores double success in cleantech rankings
25 September 2008

DeepStream Technologies listed in rankings from The Guardian and Greenbang.com

24th September 2008: DeepStream Technologies (www.deepstream.com), the intelligent sensor company, has achieved rankings in two major cleantech listings this month.

DeepStream, a Citigate Dewe Rogerson client, was ranked second in The Guardian/Library House CleanTech 100, a listing of the 100 leading European cleantech companies. DeepStream was the highest ranked UK firm in the list. The Guardian noted that DeepStream’s “3D circuitry offers considerable advantage over traditional 2D printed circuit boards, adding so-called ‘embedded intelligence’. This provides greater control and functionality which offers the potential for huge energy savings and efficiencies to be made.”

The company was also selected as one of just 23 companies on the UK Clean Tech Start-Up Company Index 2008, published by leading cleantech blog, Greenbang.com. It aimed to find “the UK’s best new companies in the clean tech industry.”

In its commentary on the firm, Greenbang said: “DeepStream's charm is that not only has it thought about the clever insides of the system, it's also worked on the outsides – the housing – to make it easier for companies to fit the system themselves . . . DeepStream has made the transition from start-up to substance. A recent agreement worth $16 million with Moeller, a supplier of industrial automation and distribution components, means that commercial application is not far off.”

Mark Crosier, chief executive officer, DeepStream Technologies, said: “Being listed on two such authoritative rankings is a great achievement for us, a fantastic validation of our technology and its potential, and a real testament to the hard work of everyone at DeepStream.

“Globally, we are going through a period of great energy instability, with soaring demand and rising prices coinciding with worsening climate change. The world has woken up to the reality that energy reduction and efficiency are going to be hugely important in managing demand - and our carbon emissions – in coming decades, and we need to come up with solutions fast. DeepStream has ambitious plans for our technology to capitalise on this and we are confident that we will grow significantly over the next few years.”

Founded in 2004 and backed by investment from 3i and Doughty Hanson, DeepStream Technologies recently hired its 80th employee and has doubled in size during the past two years. It was voted Start-up of the Year at Elektra 06, the European Electronics Industry Awards and given the prestigious accolade of a World Economic Forum (WEF) Technology Pioneer in 2007.
