Citigate Dewe Rogerson expands digital team with associate director hire
31 August 2011

Citigate Dewe Rogerson has further enhanced its digital capabilities with the appointment of online PR specialist Gugs Sembi as associate director. Gugs joins Citigate’s team of digital consultants, who support the main account teams in the roll out of online campaigns across multiple sectors including financial services, consumer, technology and professional services.

Gugs reports to Citigate’s head of digital Phil Szomszor and will also play an instrumental role in the creation of new services, business acquisition and team training.

Commenting on Gugs’ appointment, Phil Szomszor said, “Gugs brings energy and experience of rolling out digital campaigns for high profile brands, which supplements the company’s approach for combining new techniques with proven methodologies.

“We’re seeing clients in all sectors demanding an integrated approach to digital PR – the idea that social media sits outside of core PR activities is already outmoded. Gugs’ broad client experience will ensure that she will be able to support our evolving services and pass on skills to fellow team members.”

Gugs has previous held digital roles at Cirkle and Immediate Future where she worked on campaigns for brands such as Remington, Energizer, AVG, bmibaby and NSPCC.

Citigate’s suite of digital services includes social media monitoring, engagement, search engine optimisation and content creation. New services are due to be launched in Q4 2011.

In 2010 Citigate won a PR Week Award for “best healthcare: Ethical and OTC” for its Sex Degrees of Separation campaign and also previously won the OTC Marketing Award for a non-medicine and a Sabre for best EMEA Consumer Health campaign. The digital team also scooped two Digital Impact Awards in 2010 for "Best Use of Digital in the Telecoms Sector" and "Best Community Development" for the TalkTalk Don’t Disconnect Us campaign.
