Jonathan Clare is a former financial journalist.  He joined Streets Financial in 1986 before helping to establish Citigate in 1988.  He has advised many high profile companies on their communications strategy, including Granada Group, ITV, Morrisons, Associated British Foods, Investec, HSBC and many others.

Jonathan has advised on strategy for a number of high profile transactions including Granada’s merger with Carlton Communications, its acquisition of United News & Media’s television assets, the IPO of Granada Media and Granada’s merger with Compass.  Most recently he has advised ITV on its successful hostile bid defence.  Other transactions include Morrisons’ acquisition of Safeway, Investec’s IPO and Roman Abramovich’s acquisition of Chelsea Village.

Jonathan has advised on the flotation of over 35 companies on the London market.
