Jonathan Clare is the Deputy Chairman of Citigate Holdings and the Senior Client Adviser at Citigate Dewe Rogerson. He was one of the original founders of Citigate in 1988.
He has more than 20 years of public relations experience advising clients with major business critical communications issues.
This experience includes advising on some of the UK’s highest profile M&A transactions. They include Morrisons bid for Safeway, Granada’s bid for Forte, the consolidation of ITV, Roman Abramovich’s acquisition of Chelsea and HSBC’s acquisition of Midland Bank. Other major clients include Associated British Foods, Credit Suisse Group and Investec.
Most recently he advised Elpida Group, during the campaign for boardroom change at Mitchells & Butlers.
He has also advised on the flotation of 35 companies on the London market, including Granada Media – winner of PR Week’s financial award for best financial campaign.
Jonathan is a former financial journalist and commentator who wrote for The Times and Daily Mail. As a journalist Jonathan commented on many high profile stories including major bids, IPOs and the UK government’s privatisation programme.
