From 2004 until summer 2007 he was Special Adviser to the then Deputy Prime Minister, the Rt Hon John Prescott MP. He has wide experience of working in Westminster and Whitehall and has policy expertise in planning, housing, environmental policy, transport and local government.

Mick is a former Labour Party official, where he worked in the policy unit at Party HQ in London. He has also worked in local government and has a decade of political and campaigning experience at local and national levels.
